Finiture Guregn (€ 1200 each) Measurements
If you are in your late forties or early fifties like us (sic!), it’s likely that those large three way bookshelf speakers so much beloved by hi-fi enthusiasts in the 80’s are between your sweetest memories of that period.
Pushed by this feeling we decided to bring that concept back, helped by the noticeable progress in drivers technology occurred in the meanwhile.
The Guregn is a compact four way speaker (could also be considered as a three way plus a subwoofer) which offers a performance level simply unknown in a speaker of its size. The newly developed 10 inches woofer puts together sensitivity, extension and burst response in a very compact volume: the speaker is tuned to 32 Hz, and can generate over 108 dB from that frequency. Very often, while people listen to them for the first time, after a while they start going around to find the hidden subwoofer, because it’s hard to believe that such a powerful low end comes from a speaker of this size. If used in an HT setup as main channels in a room not larger than 20 sq.mt. a subwoofer is unnecessary, and you can save some floor space without loosing any special low frequency effects.
ITS NAME
Guregn is an adjective which means “tough, sturdy, resistant”. It is often used to indicate, for instance, a man who, despite an ordinary appearance, demonstrates unsuspected strength and resistance. Perfect word to describe this speaker, which offers realistic low frequencies levels joined with the unbeatable clarity and definition of the planar speakers employed for middle and high frequencies, which makes voices absolutely stunning in their realism.
