Gheddo (€ 2600 each) Measurements
Should you already have an Artaban or Langa speaker pair, and had the opportunity to ask George Clooney’s suggestion for the best matching central speaker, he’d probably point a finger to the Gheddo, saying “what else?”, like in the famous coffee commercial.
Jokes apart, if you want to put together an extraordinary multichannel setup, the Gheddo is the right choice. Perfect tonal match with the Artaban and the Langa (even if could be paired with the Lember too), high sensitivity and acoustic output, isodynamic drivers working from 300 hz up: to find out something capable of a more natural reproduction of the human voices wouldn’t be an easy task, believe us. Specific stand included.
ITS NAME
Gheddo, in our language, means “particular inclination, high attitude” toward something. Should you be a Piedmontese, when you see someone real good at some task, like cooking, singing or whatever you want, you would say “that dude has the gheddo for it”.
It defines some sort of melt of style, elegance and capacity.
This speaker is definitely at ease when it comes to reproduce human voices and the typical signals deposited on the central channel of the soundtrack, and it does it so naturally and realistically that naming it Gheddo seemed us particularly indicated.
TECHNICAL SPECIFICATIONS
Two 8” sealed woofer, four 8” isodynamic midbass and midranges (differently driven by the crossover network), one AMT Heil tweeter.
Dimensions 106 cm width, 30 cm diameter. 35 Kg weight.
Freq. response from 60Hz to 25 Khz +/- 2 dB.
4 Ohm impedance, 93 dB/1W/1mt sensitivity.
Max applicable power 500 watts.
Max acoustic output 118 dB at 60 Hz, 120 dB from 80 Hz up.
Double tone finish as standard.
SUGGESTED APPLICATION
Center channel speaker in very high quality multichannel setups; ideal partner for our Artaban and Langa, but can also match the Lember perfectly. Do not try to use as a main channel: a vertical positioning would affect the radiation pattern, reducing the overall acoustic performance of the speaker. Electronic crossovering is mandatory, with a suggested minimum cut off frequency of 60 hz.
